"As your Lib Dem candidate in the by-election for Fareham
-
Do you live in Fareham West? Vote on December 9th! Image by Alan Cleaver
Borough Council on the 9th December, I'm taking this chance to write to you
personally before you vote and say a little about myself.
I care about our part of Fareham
because I have lived here for 18 years, bringing up my two daughters with my
wife Amanda. Currently I own and run a children’s Nursery / Pre-School on The
Avenue along with my wife where we, with sixteen staff, look after 130 local
children throughout the week.
My work really keeps me in touch with local issues and what
local people want and need. I am also a student of Portsmouth
University studying for a Degree in
Early Years Education. Before coming into Early Years Education I was employed
as a Service Manager for a main Mercedes Benz Dealership in Fareham.
I served our country in the armed forces as Royal Engineers,
doing various tours in many countries around the world, seeing a lot of things.
We have many things in our country which we should be proud of, however, we
need to take care of our community, which form the heart of our great country.
Being your councillor, should you elect me will enable me to
do my part in ensuring this happens for our future communities of Fareham.
Becoming a father and now a grandfather often makes me think that our
generation has a duty in ensuring our communities continues to be a safe and
healthy place for our children to grow up in and bring their children into.
We are fighting plans for 7000 houses on greenfields north
of Fareham. The Conservative-dominated Borough Council
is forcing this development on us, with all the traffic it will bring, even
though the Coalition Government has scrapped top-down housing targets. My
pledge is to try to do what is best for Fareham and to
keep you in touch with what is going on, through our Focus newsletter.
Your opinions are important. If you agree with what I am
doing and trying to do, please support me with you vote in this election. Best
wishes, Nick Gregory P.S. This election is likely to be close between me and
the Conservative candidate. Labour are not in the race here. A Conservative
vote is a vote for their plans to build 7000 more houses here. Your vote can
and will make a difference. If you have any issue you want to discuss, please call
me or send an email."
As released by Nick Gregory on behalf of the Liberal Democratic Party - November 2010.
