Hi Paula. I haven't looked into the technicalities of this, so I may be mistaken but Fareham are the only local town that doesn't seem to have it's own festival. Any ideas why that is? There are lots of very good local bands who would relish such an event as a showcase. There is the perfect (as far as I can see it) site on Bath Lane Rec. to hold such an event, close enough to town yet far enough away not to be a nuicance. So, if Gosport can put on such a fantastic festival that it does every year, why is Fareham unable to do something similar?
Just wondered!

you make a really good point, Fiona! I suppose a lot of the sub towns to Fareham do their own thing - but doesn't mean we can't do something centrally and i have no idea why. And you're right in that the cricket ground would be the ideal venue, or the playing fields by the leisure centre - or the fields up Kiln Lane way!

i suspect it's because Gosport has (or had, i heard he got stung in the expenses scandal) a councillor who had great connections and cared about that kinda thing. I think Fareham's councillors might be too busy tackling the taxing issue of cleaning up dog sh** and category Z drug users. Oh my, now I'm in trouble.
