In the wake of local protest, Fareham Borough Council will re-launch

its public consultation regarding controversial plans to build around 7,000 new

homes on a site right outside Fareham town.

Previously accused of improper public consultation by those

against the new homes, the council are now agreeing to disregard past feedback

in favour of new, perhaps more educated, responses from local people.  This new consultation will be launched on the 4th of January 2011.

You can read about plans in this article on our website.  South Hampshire’s Unheard Voices (SHUV) and

the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) also voice opinions you can read

here too.

It isn’t just FarehamPeople that rely on your opinion – it’s

councillors, businesses and protest organisations so please don’t be afraid to

voice it!  Do you want the potential jobs

and the boost to the central Fareham/Wickham/Portchester economy (not to

mention homes for people who currently need them)?  Or, are you absolutely against the ever dwindling “green and pleasant land” and the arguably slapdash way the council went

about approving the plans?
