Are you involved with an amateur dramatic society? As farehamite might tell you, my own brand of

dramatics are quite professional and often earn me expensive rewards ;)
If you are, please register with farehampeople.co.uk so that you
can post your events and news for all of us to read about. Tell us about yourselves, if you have the time,
and stick up some pictures in our gallery section. We’d love to hear from you and we would love
to come along to your shows, so get yourselves noticed! If it’s free you have
nothing to lose.
Titchfield Festival Theatre are putting on their Major Barbara
production in October. The play, written
by George Bernard Shaw, focuses on a Salvation Army worker who, in becoming disillusioned
with the Christian faith, begins campaigning against exactly where the funding is coming from – in the hope that morality will shine through. See our events section for more details.
Anyone driving down Fareham’s ‘The Avenue’ cannot fail to
have spotted the huge “Mack & Mabel” banner on the fence there – promoting the
Fareham Musical Society’s production of Mack & Mabel. It’s got to have been there since I was in my
early 20s! Despite that banner still
being up, their website confirms that performance schedule is over. Their next one, due in the spring 2011, will
be “Thoroughly Modern Millie”, a would-be love story about the rites of
passage of a young girl moving to New York to find a better life.
Gosport Musical Theatre Productions will shortly be performing
Disney’s version of Alice In Wonderland at Crofton Community Centre – see events
section for more details.
The Sultan Theatre Group will be showing a pantomime at HMS
Sultan. As their site informs us: “Sultan
Theatre Group is a self funded theatrical group that puts on two excellent
shows a year. The first show is in the spring which serves as our annual entry
to the RNTA Drama Festival and the second provides the end of year fun in our
seasonal Pantomime. All performances are conducted at Brunel Theatre, HMS
Sultan, Gosport.”
What did I leave out – anyone?

We would also be interested in hearing about drama groups who would be interested in working with us in making films locally. We are always looking for talent.
