Undercooked Breakfast
The outside looks very stylish and up-to-date but unfortunately that’s where
the good points finish, I took my wife in here to have something to eat and on
appearance was expecting something rather nice. My wife found us a table and I
waited at the counter, and waited; and waited. Around twenty minutes later the
only member of staff working the counter served me. I ordered two lattes and
two full breakfasts. I took the drinks and sat down; this is where the problems
started. My latte was luke warm yet drinkable, but my wife’s latte was served
in a dirty glass! It had what I would describe as a tide ring around the
inside. So she went and got it exchanged and was aghast to see that nearly all
the glasses ready to have drinks served in were dirty. We waited for another
twenty minutes for the food to arrive, but that was ok, it gave me time to
clean the sticky table! Well there were only six items on the plate, what could
go wrong.1 Toast – Stone cold! But the butter for it was melted so when you
opened the wrapper the liquid ran everywhere 2 Eggs – These were really under
cooked the whites as well as the yolks and they reminded me of snot!
3 Sausages – These tasted like they were kept in a bains-marie as they were
poached and the skins had started to come off
4 Beans – Oh dear, I like beans but not when you spell beans. . . .B U L L E
T S absolutely awful
5 Bacon – This was also cooked hours before then kept in a bains-marie, it
tasted like rubber
We didn’t even reach the tomato, you never know it may have been brilliant,
but I doubt it
By the time we had a poke around the
plate commenting to each other how disgusting it looked we had already decided
to leave, my wife asked to speak to the manager so we could complain and was
promptly told ‘he’s unloading a delivery lorry!’ Hmmm hands on role? There only
other positive point being that the young lady was more than happy to give us a
refund, I took a photo so you can see how much food was left
I wouldn’t recommend eating in this place; it’s not somewhere to go for
food. You never know it may be a great pub?
Comments
hmm. is it me or does that picture make their breakfast look ****** lovely? temperature aside obviously. shame though. i saw someone really rate The Crowns breakfasts recently (Wetherspoons chain) yet i flipping hated it when i went! 70% food 30% charcoal is so not my idea of flavour.
