New Year's Eve In Fareham - What's On?
first decade of the 21st century?
Tickets for any relevant events listed can be purchased over
the bar of the venue and all venues advise you book in advance to avoid
disappointment!
For a tenner a ticket Chicago’s are promising us a New Year’s
Eve party to remember – well, at least into the early hours. Most people who remember New Year’s Eve just
didn’t party hard enough (ahem – safe drinking alert)!
The Fareham pub on Trinity
Street has live music in the form of Pompey-based acoustic
rock band Half-Light. The night will go
on until midnight but we're unsure if it’s
a ticket only event yet – we’ll get back to you on that one!
Over in Portchester The Seagull has a tribute band dedicated
to Duran Duran on that night and tickets are free – however, they’re only being
handed out by managers and assistant managers at their discretion so get in
quick.
Titchfield’s The Queen’s Head are putting on something slightly
different but it sounds fantastic! A pig
race! Fortunately no animals will be
harmed during this event since it’s all about racing fluffy Duracell
piggies! For £20 the night includes a
two-course buffet and a late opening until 1am.
The Crofton pub in Stubbington will be seeing in the new
year with a hearty meal and a tribute band playing Sinatra, Elvis and Neil
Diamond’s greatest hits – tickets are £30
If you’re feeling a little more frivolous you could try the
Solent Hotel in Whiteley who, for an immodest £91 (you have to wonder why the
extra quid!), are putting on a Gala Dinner Dance. After a red carpet entrance you’ll be treated
to a champagne reception followed by a six course meal. After the meal there will be the opportunity
to dance off a few pounds or, if it’s all too much, you can book a night at the
luxury hotel for £199 per person.
