Gosport College is a new facility designed to
-
Gosport College - New Opportunities For School-Leavers
prepare school-leavers for the world of work. It's a partnership between
Fareham College, Fareport Training, Hampshire County Council, Connexions and
Gosport secondary schools. It will
provide fulltime, vocational training for those young people classed as not in
education or employment.
Unlike the colleges we’re used to locally it won’t have one central
building. Courses will be held in
various locations throughout Gosport and Fareham, including the college’s own
hair and beauty salon in Gosport High Street – now open to the public.
Gosport College will be offering, among others, courses in
hair and beauty, health and social care, construction, radio production and
music technology.
The official opening ceremony is on Wednesday the 22nd
of September 2010 and will be opened by Conservative MP for the Gosport area Caroline
Dinenage.
As the college’s website states, “Staff at Gosport
College want every student to succeed. We work hard to ensure that every
student continues to progress when they leave the College. We have
developed progression links with a number of employers. The College offers
its students employment preparation workshops and liaison events in relevant employment industries.”
Gosport College are enrolling new students all this week and
those potential students wanting more information can just drop in to any of
these locations:
Unit 810 or 700,
Fareham Reach, Gosport Road, Gosport
Gosport College
Hairdressing Salon, 12a High Street, Gosport
Fareport Training
Centre, 16a High Street, Gosport
