Famous People From Fareham... ?

Do you know any famous Fareham people? After much research I have drawn the conclusion

that Fareham needs much more of them. We
can’t even really claim Britain’s Got Talent presenter Amanda Holden, since she’s
from Bishop’s Waltham – and I will keep my opinion on whether that’s a good or
bad thing to myself.
Nor can we claim Lily Allen’s Dad, Keith, who spent his
childhood in Gosport, attending Brune Park school, while his father served in Portsmouth.
But all is not lost, we have a few aces up our sleeves. The Actor Jerold Wells was born in Wallington
and before his death in 1999 starred in the film Time bandits, The Two Ronnies
and the Benny Hill show.
Alan Wassell and Graham Roope were also from Fareham and
both went on to play cricket for England with Roope being described as one of
the best slip fielders of his generation.
Fareham-born organist and composer John Goss composed the
hymn Praise My Soul, The King of Heaven.
In 1838 he became the organist in St. Paul’s cathedral.
Can you add to the list?
Who did I miss? Surely there must
be more “famous” people living in or around the area? What about from Portchester, Stubbington or
Tichfield? Add your thoughts in the
comments!

Reportwasn't Roger Black from round here too? And I recall some basketball player too but have no idea what his name was. Oh and that massive huge fella from the Hoffmeister "follow the bear" adverts years ago (went on to have a major role in the kids' programme Cave Girl and tons of other cameo rolls in films and TV)
