Fareham Kids Get Another Chance To Shine With The Skill Force Programme
is an education youth charity that has been inspiring young people and raising
achievement for the last ten years. It predominately works with 11-16
year olds delivering an alternative school curriculum and aims to increase the
numbers of young people entering education, employment and training on leaving
school. The Henry Cort Community College is the first school in
Hampshire to offer a group of youngsters a unique opportunity to benefit from
an exciting curriculum that is renowned to motivate and inspire students.
Skill Force courses help young people earn vocational qualifications and develop life skills through appropriate and structured classroom and outdoor activities. In February 2009 the importance of Skill Force was recognised when His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales became their Royal Patron.
And that’s
all well and good – but Henry Cort could be paving the way for every school in
the area to be offering this “curriculum” – and do you think their website
(either school or charity) gives details?
Well they don’t in any depth. If my kid was
about to study a different curriculum from the rest of England I would like to
know what it is!

ReportThere hasn't even been a letter sent to parents.
If this is something that can improve the chances of kids leaving school, then that's a good thing, but they should keep parents informed.
