Snow in Portchester December 2010

Although only

1.  

   snow on the shore

2.  

   Portchester Castle

3.  

   Hospital Lane - Portchester

for a brief period, snow descended all over Britain causing chaos nearly

everywhere.

Schools and

colleges were closed along with some work places and public transport was practically

nonexistent over the two day period.

Certainly in

Portchester, people started to panic buy. No one knew just how long the snow

would really last for, and everyone was expecting a repeat of January’s snow mayhem.

In the

precinct, the council acted rather quickly in order to get it cleared along

with the main roads, but in Fareham high street the snow still covered majority

of the pavement.

And as cold and

inconvenient as it may be, it’s still a nice sight to see, and started off

December in true winter style.

I took this opportunity

to take some photos around Portchester before the snow disappeared.
